Kalakaua Avenue is the main artery that runs through the Waikiki from Queen Kapiolani Park on the east to the Hawaii Convention Center on the west.  The eastern portion of Kalakaua runs very close to Waikiki Beach. All the expensive resort-type hotels are located between Kalakaua and the Waikiki beachfront.

The other two arterial roads in Waikiki are Kuhio Avenue and Ala Wai Boulevard.  Kuhio intersects with Kalahaua at Fort de Russy Park.
