Parasailing is a popular recreational activity on Waikiki Beach and a nearby Ala Moana Beach. The participant is attached to a large parachute with a harness. A rope connects the parachute to a motorboat. The person is then "launched" from a motorboat into the Hawaiian ski over the ocean.

The individual will reach an elevation of between 300 to 800 feet which gives that person a fabulous view of Waikiki Beach and the Hawaiian coastline. At the end of the parasail, the person is dropped gently into the warm ocean water.
